I've seen fanart of this series drawn all over everywhere, and I just recently read the first volume of the manga.

So.. now.. I am quite pleased to see that Shinsen is subbing the anime! It looks like it is branching off just a little compared to the manga though.

I love crazy shounen series..es. 8D

Hm I think the idea of the show was somehow interesting. But why does it have to be a funny and completely unrealistic kids show? Sth. evil and serious would've been much better. I will test out the next episode, but if the series completely stays like this, what's expected, I won't follow it in the future.

Well, anime tends to be censored down a little (at least, when it's aimed towards children) compared to the manga. The Law of Ueki manga has a ton of blood, though there's none in the show save one episode.

I thought the first episode was a bit rushed as well though, but I still have high hopes for the anime. :D

Episode 2 was highly amusing. Two of the lines really got me:
"I can't believe he would sacrifice a man's most valuable part just to block the ball!"
and..

"It is said that Gokudera Hayato can hide bombs in any part of his body.." :o

Hayato is awesome, I really like him.

Also the music was cool in this episode, kinda had a godfather thing going on..

After watching episode 1 all i can say is...eh? Nothing really struck me as outstandingly funny and the baby thing is almost ridiculous enough to make me drop the series right now. I'll give it 2...maybe 3 more episodes before i decide.

I've watched so many Shinsen projects over the years but this is the first time i've cared enough to join the forums. I'm really quite interested in this series. I thought it aired monthly, but it appears that Shinsen are just behind, which sucks but i've been coping for four episodes, hopefully i'll cope for longer. I'll look forward to the future releases. Hopefully this will become a priority and we'll be flooded with episodes at some point. Thanks for the work Shinsen, it's much appreciated.

2) If we wanted to share with you the current state of things, we would have done so. We didn't do that, so what does that tell you? Thread is closed because staff that's spending most if not all of their free time working on things so you and everyone else can watch high quality subtitled anime for free do not feel the need for random people whining and nagging. It just makes us feel bad and, frankly, we don't think we should feel bad for working on things that should make us happy.

i wonder if this anime will end at 26. later is Lanchia's fight. from then on til 26 seems too short to take in all that fight with Mukuro. so maybe it'll go down the typical shounen road and go more than 26?

totally not, that it will end at episode 26 - two main reasons:

1. reborn is really more popular in japan than it is here
2. and we still have the vognola ring arc to be animated

it's the manga that is heavily popular in Japan, not the anime. and anime has been kind of taking fire/criticism for the vast number of edits and toning down, that's why i expected that to be the reason why it isn't reigning the airwaves there at least yet. maybe with this Kokuyo arc where it stunned fans when blood was raining, hopefully fans will begin to forgive the series and give it a lot more attention and praise. it is this scare that is making us think that it will end at 26, but like i said, at the rate the story is now on Kokuyo, it doesn't look like it'll end there.

and i don't think they will focus on the Vongola Rings soon, that arc just ended in the manga and they'll soon run out of material. so maybe they will go back to some of the chapters they've skipped. hopefully! like a certain Chapter 13 where suddenly someone wound up to be very important.

i'm not saying it should end at 26, no lol, i'm totally against it. i just said it might end at this arc for now (which if you ask me i estimate to end at 30 something) and not start on a new big arc like the Varia's cos the manga was just through with that! well, they could do that and maybe hit filler epis or go back to the daily life arcs, OR, daily life arcs for now before Varia. actually, fans are debating whether the Varia arc is interconnected with the new arc that's going on in the chapters right now. in that case, they can't just go through with the Varia arcs because they have to go back and introduce a certain somebody.

as for the airwaves, i think it does matter. too early/morning means its targeted for kids which would mean a lot of editing out the violence, mature themes, etc which in turn could infuriate and frustrate the older demographic the manga has won over. (and imho, i think the edits are far worse than Airgear's. chapters, critical plot points...) earlier means it's more kiddie, and i guess the anime producers are hoping to woo a new audience hoping for more profit, but it's an unfamiliar crowd that might not readily accept or receive this series. and they could be losing the older more stable audience in the process too.

Well about that support thingie, I mean that part where they show the sponsors artland, tvtokyo etc... I wasn't sure of the gloves part being in the opening song or that sponsor part.

+ About the arc, I can discuss less. I am a reborn fan buying the french volumes (now 3 far, and next month a fourth). So all I know is three possibilities:
1. as you say some daily life arc episodes
2. fillers (like they did with d.gray-man
3. next arc

Hello, just on a random wind got a glimps of Reborn in the Japanese Jump. I didnt really look into it, but I watched the eps subbed by SHS, the animes really funny. Thanks for the hard work. After taking a glance at Tokyo Tokoshan just a moment ago, a public service bulletin from me. Fans of Reborn, please keep in mind that Shinsen-subs is the only group which has subbed this anime since episode 1, not skipping any episodes because they were boring or not filled with action. I'm not sure why, but it's suddenly become the trend for other groups to begin subbing at the start of the "action" story arcs. That's their prerogative, but the only place to get the whole series will be here. Thanks for your time. XD

I think your post is important and completely appropriate. I feel the same way you do. And since you work on the project I'm sure it upsets you even more than me. We can't stop anyone from downloading "it." But simply put...unless you (leechers) have read ahead you will probably be lost. Jumping ahead 10 or so episodes will usually do that. I have no idea why jumping ahead in a series has become "the trend", for other groups...but quite frankly I think it is silly.

Shinsen/Formula will be releasing every single episode, in chronological order of course. I have very little respect for any person or group that would start a series at the start of an action arc, while skipping everything else. Staff member's vacations and other real life stuff has put us a little further behind schedule than planned, but I'll tell you guys that episode 34 is not too far off from where our "behind the scenes" work currently stands. As soon as the batch of episodes I've been editing this week gets QC'd and encoded, you'll see.

(Sorry--don't know how to do the html quote thing) I'm pretty sure that the manga (don't know about the anime) is currently the #2 series in Jump right now, after One Piece? If it's true that the anime isn't as popular as the manga, then that's really a shame--I find the early storylines to be quite charming and funny. So what if there's no Naruto-style non-stop fighting? To me, THAT'S really dull. Don't get me wrong, I like the later stories too--the Varia arc and the Vongola rings arc--but mainly because they manage to stay funny and fast-paced like the earlier stories instead of switching into drag-the-fight-out-at-all-costs mode. :)

I recently started reading the Manga and it answered something i had been wondering from the EPs. In the anime Shamal gives Hibari the Sakura Kura for no apperent reason. But it turns out that he got it from a long while back lol. I like the manga alot more than the anime and I wish the anime had shown some of the wacky manga chapters like Little kid Gokudera lol....Oh well Still a great show

Nipponsei released a torrent for the OST1 a while back, maybe 2 as well... Check the bots in their channels, bug the hell out of them, whatever it takes. They were distributing it at one point.

That is about the only memorable track in the series outside of the OP/ED music, imo. :\

I'll answer this one as well, I guess.

Short answer: probably not.
Long answer: Formula Sub's encoder (who encodes the mp4 you seem to like) missed downloading the font for the new ED song's karaoke effects. Therefore, it came out all oogly and in Arial. It was not fit for distribution. The encoder was very busy at the time and refused to re-encode them. He has gotten a much, much faster PC since then (and a vacation), so if you beg, he might re-encode them someday. But don't hold your breath.

Sigh, nice way to "welcome" new users on the forums. I was just wondering because releasing multiple episodes in a couple of days usually isn't normal, and I have no idea where the series is at in Japan.

Some new users take a different approach: They make a nice post in the introduce yourself thread in general discussion, pick a nice (non-animated and non-annoying) avatar, and make some kind of contribution to the forum in the form of some (moderately) interesting reply or thread.
Others just waltz in, ask a silly question, which Google might help them find the answer to (there are resources on the net that list air-times for all shows), and don't exactly make an all-round great impression.
Now take a guess which type of new member gets the warmer welcome. ;)
Anyway, don't mind Cyprene too much. Check out the staff list on the main website and read Cyprene's job description.

Looking at the (ongoing) manga, episode 48 correlates to about chapter 108-109. There's 163(?) chapters which have been published. My guess is gonna be 78 episodes... For the simple reason of the OPs. 1-26's OP was Drawing Days, 27-52 was Boys & Girls, 53-78 (? - based on precedent) is a new one. Jumping directly from the current arc to the next would make it possible... But it's really just speculation on my part.

Well there Is a good 50-50% chance It will come I think because there was so much left out In the Anime that was In the manga Gokudera smoked and The Tomaso Family and weirdo Longchamp Naito wasent or hasent bin shown yet in the Anime. Is that seriously a worry? That they will not anime the future arc? They would be mad to do that! Reborn is huge in Japan, I mean HUGE here. All the used book stores can't keep reborn in stock (trust me, its a horror to track them down) the local anime store has a really big section for reborn. Its as big as bleach and is bigger than D.gray.man. Even at the Shonen Jump store in Osaka; It was all about reborn. It was totally pimping the reborn. I really want the expensive seven rings (80 bucks a pop). In the Jump store the reborn section was also bigger than Bleach.... what do you think? It worries me that they won't animate a really cool and interesting plot twist. I don't even mind fillers if it means an animated ten year Gokudera and Yamamoto and Hibari...*goes to her volumes of future arc and pets covers* What is your opinon?

Yes, the Reborn manga does very well in Japan. I think volume 17 was second in sales only to Naruto in August. However, keep in mind a couple things. First, the Reborn anime is not nearly as popular as the manga. It airs at 10:30 in the morning and is targeting kids and younger teens. Second, the 10 Years Future arc isn't finished. Fillers for any manga-based anime is bad.

Sure, they may pick the series up once the current manga arc has been completed, but I'm convinced that production will stop after the Varia arc is over.

Even though its early morning, doesn't mean its not only targeting kids. Its a Saturday show, and not only that its at 10:30-when the not only the little kids, the the big ones are getting up. I am ultra happy because its not during the week and I can watch it (don't understand it, that is why I download but still...) Sure it doesn't have a prime time spot, like Conan (which will never stop), but its still a really good time. The 17th just came out in early November you were spot on about that and its sooo good. As far as fillers go, you are right, I have yet to see a good filler arc....the fact that I am desperate enough to want that....it fills me with shame. The future arc is sooo cool*shakes head* As much as I think it may stop, I have a feeling it won't. Surely not in the middle of the fall season. The reason I remain floored is the fact that nearly all the swag is in anime style. I am not trying to convince you, I know you want the same thing I do...I am just, baffled.

but I think the reason that KHR lacks popularity is because the anime so far looks more like is 30 eps of filler and 20 of the actual action (the eps of fighting between Tsuna and Family vs Mukuro Rokudo and the ones vs the Varia), i don't know how the manga goes 'cos i haven't yet read it......

All you guys asking for release times/dates should be ashamed..! If you make them mad you might have them drop the series. And I for one would go insane trying to figure out what they are saying in the raw releases. And besides they do release other great anime titles, and keep up to date with what they wanna release anyway. Now you might think "hes brown nosing!!" and yes you might be right, But all I can say is... I brown nose because these guys are the only fansub group out there thats subbing reborn. The translations seem pretty good to me, no timing issues, and its 1000X better then a raw, and me being english speaking only leaves me having to consume alot of alcohol to have fun with raws. That and if you guys don't stop pushing the releases back a week asking "when or why" my girlfriend is going to attack me soon. Soooooo keep a fellow SHS fan happy, and safe in the future. Wait for the day and refresh their tracker webpage 9x a day like me >:)

what is shown on tv is also serious when the "daily-life" arc ends (it's maybe a bit long... but somehow necessary) and the "fight vs. varia" arc starts. not as serious as the manga in some parts, that's right though. but it could be worse. maybe it will change when (if ^^) the future arc will be animated... and not on saturday mornings. nevertheless, it's an awesome series based on some incredible piece of manga. (in my opinion) =)

seems like that. well there are still plenty of "comedy" episodes from the daily life arc in the manga they have not used yet for the anime (they skipped a few things, created new ones etc. and then went straight to the varia arc), so they can do a lot more "storyless" episodes. or just create new anime-only stories again. it is alright for me if they just want to fill the gap until they will show the future arc someday. even though it would be a little bit strange "daily life arc" > "varia arc" > back to "daily life arc" > "future arc"

There is actual action, which isn't comedy influenced; but it comes later in the series, umm, from what I recall it starts between episodes 30 and 40, or the late twenties.

1-8 doesn't really have that much action; it's only about Tsuna getting a family, isn't it?
Like someone else said, it's regular day, then 19-26 Rokudo Mukuro & Hyper Dying Will Bullet arc, then daily life again, then the first ep of the Half Vongola Rings, and then finally, the latest: the Varia arc, Guardian Battles. I wonder if they'll do the future arc in the anime, and is 65 already out?

I would like to say that seeing this as a part of Shonen Jump advertised manga I got straight onto it, but that is not at all truthful. I only started watching because my sister started watching and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I liked it very well, but my sis quit before even ep 11. I watched the anime, then read the manga starting from the Sky Battle 'cause I wanted to know what happened...
When I saw ep 25-26 with Hyper Dying Will Tsuna, I was like: "Rebuke bullet is AWESOME!!! He has his clothes on!" So...it was a bummer when I noticed that he still had to do Dying Will bullet. I've been trying to draw his anime Hyper Dying Will(HDW) eye for ever!
I am no fan of yaoi or yuri, not at all. Whenever I see pics of mild yaoi, like, say, some guy has his arm around Tsuna and Tsuna's blushing? I think they are just being brothers(like with Dino) and the other guy brings up the topic of Kyoko.
That yaoi-and-yuri-overlook thing of mine can be a problem, especially with stuff like Gravitation, Eerie Queerie, Sukisho, Strawberry Panic, et cetera. It just makes me feel uncomfortable and I only read/watched Gravitation because I heard about it everywhere(didn't know it was yaoi) and it was so funny, like Sukisho. I kept watching/reading because of that funniness. Eerie Queerie, I wasn't interested in at all; I was bored. Strawberry Panic was a one time thing(I dislike yuri more than yaoi since I'm a girl) and is Princess Princess even a yaoi? I never noticed anything yaoi. Sure they kissed, but...
Straying out of topic, running out of colors, and going out of my head. I'll end this with:

People need to appreciate subbers more is my opinion. I know if it wasn't for subbers I'd be watching dubbed and I'd be watching an episode of something two years after it comes out in Japan. Not to mention I'd never get to see some of the shows. KHR is a good example. I don't mind waiting a couple weeks if it's for a good sub.

I recently started watching this anime and its pretty good. It seems like an action roller coaster...you got the high points like the varia arc and the low points like the daily life episodes. The daily life ones are pretty goofy but the action arcs DEFINENTLY make up for it. Kinda sad I'm watching this series as it goes into filler but oh well :smirk:
